Health and Happiness
I have come to witness the amazing healing benefits of happiness. Probably the most profound healing I have done in my life, has been of that from the heart/spirit. When things are done that resonate with your spirit, the body hums along in tune, and harmony and health is present. This is key for healing. I see a lot of fearful eaters these day - measuring things and doing things blindly, following new research, and paying no attention to what works for them! Truly, the body knows what it wants, the spirit knows what to do, all we have to do is listen!! Part of healing is eliminating the personal 'struggle' that comes from within when we want change.
Getting the body in tune with yourself, and 'feeling good' is a huge first step to healing. A whole foods diet creates an opportunity to do this, and brings us "home", to your pure and resonant natural self, where true joy is experienced.
Working with the Health of the Spirit
It is important to consider the health of the spirit as well as the body. They are two sides of the same coin which need to be valued equally. When the body purifies, so does the spirit. Likewise, when the spirit is purified (such as eliminating poor habits or beliefs), the body also purifies. An example might be a sore throat that clears up when resent is finally resolved through forgiveness. Another example would be the increased fulfillment in daily life when good food is eaten - alternatively, it is common to feel down about life when a degenerative diet is involved.
